Down-Syndrome-Awareness-Ribbon-Applique-Machine-Embroidery-Digitized-Design-Pattern-700x700If you see a ribbon in support or awareness of Down syndrome, it will always be blue and yellow.  I often wondered the significance of each color and why these colors were chosen to represent something I am so passionate about…here is the answer!

Blue- blue is a color that often represents integrity, trust, loyalty and knowledge.  Blue is also associated with depth and stability, inspiring us to find the answers and go beyond the surface.  Just as blue reminds us of these qualities, Down syndrome reminds us of the depth that is within every individual  that surpasses their diagnosis.

Yellow- yellow is most often associated with happiness, intellect and energy.  The color yellow has a way of bringing joy and warmth into our lives.  Just as yellow is stimulating to our minds and hearts, individuals with Down syndrome stimulate us to see the good in the world and are a reminder of pure happiness and joy.
